We are a practice that has a true love and respect for contemporary and heritage projects equally because each informs the other. Our foundation design skills have been formed by contemporary and traditional architecture & interiors. These learning we combine with our intuitive design skills to create the designs for our clients. Every project broadens our thinking and strengthens the work that follows. We have no boundaries.

Stonnington Residence is the third commission for a family who sought a home inspired by the enduring qualities of European architecture. Rather than replicating historic styles, RMA explored the principles that have allowed these buildings to stand the test of time, including proportion, order, geometry and hierarchy. These ideas informed a residence that balances grandeur with intimacy, creating generous living spaces while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. The result is a home that feels timeless, deeply personal and perfectly suited to contemporary family life.
Great architecture is never defined by style alone. It is shaped by proportion, craftsmanship and the care invested in every detail.

The success of the residence is reflected in the extraordinary level of craftsmanship throughout. RMA assembled a team of specialist artisans including Portuguese stonemasons, Italian renderers and British cabinet-makers, while sourcing exceptional stone, timber, fabrics, fireplaces and fittings from around the world. Every material was selected for its authenticity and enduring quality, creating interiors that feel richly layered, beautifully crafted and entirely consistent with the architectural vision. It is this commitment to detail that gives the residence its sense of permanence and quiet confidence.
For more than three decades, RMA has drawn inspiration from exceptional architecture around the world, not to reproduce it, but to understand the principles that make it enduring. Those ideas are realised through a trusted network of artisans, craftspeople and specialist suppliers developed over many years. Together, they bring an extraordinary level of care, skill and authenticity to every residence, ensuring each project reflects its own character while meeting the uncompromising standards of the practice.
