This beautiful site affords impressive views over the Nepean River to the foothills of the Blue Mountains. It calls for a blend of traditional country and contemporary design.

Castlereagh is one of the most historic sites in Australia's colonial history, only an hour from Sydney and yet home to the quiet of nature. In a clearing among the trees, RMA is designing a home that balances an epic scale with intimate spaces, allowing family groups to live separately and come together.

Taking cues from a Danish style of architecture, the single-storey building features a pronounced gable roof with folded edges, and large eaves to provide protection from the summer sun.

Solid walls and simple glazed openings surround a central, symmetrical courtyard. Flanking water ponds, lawns, a large-scale garage and even a new tractor shed complete this ordered yet inviting family home.
